If you want to show off amazing photos on your social media, follow these tips and learn how to be more photogenic.
There are people who are naturally photogenic, and there are the rest of who are not so fortunate. If you belong to the second group you know how frustrating it can be.
These days most of us are pretty much stuck at home, so there’s plenty of time to master the skill of being more photogenic.
You know that scenario when you’re on vacation or at a party and you want to make some nice pics but you end up looking kind of awkward in most of them? Don’t worry, because there are things you can do to look great in photos. Just follow these simple tips and you’ll love the results.
Ready to make some awesome pics? Here’s how you can do it.
Strike a Pose
Stand in front of the mirror and practice. Turn your body slightly away from the camera, one shoulder closer to it than the other. Don’t keep your feet together; put one in front of the other. Keep your back straight and put one hand on your hip just like the movie stars do on the red carpet.
Tilt Your Head a Bit
You want to avoid that nasty double chin effect and to do that you need to elongate your neck. You should also tilt your head slightly to look better in the photo. When it comes to looking at the camera, you should look a bit above or below it.
Pay Attention to Lighting
Any photographer will tell you that the right lighting makes great photos. If you are outside, wait for the dusk because this part of the day provides the perfect lighting. If it’s the middle of the day and the sun is shining, step into the shade. For making photos indoors, avoid standing directly under a source of light because it accentuates imperfections on your face.
Too much foundation is not a good option. It’s better if you use concealer on the problematic spots and put some powder on your forehead, nose and chin. Make sure you put some mascara to open up and accentuate eyes and some blush on your cheeks.
