Looking at Jennifer Lopez, one can’t help but wonder how she manages to look so youthful at 50. This incredible woman has become the symbol of agelessness with her sculpted abs and flawless skin. And she obviously has no intention of slowing down when it comes to her career; her new movie Hustlers is at the cinemas right now and she just finished her 38-show “It’s My Party Tour”.
So how does she do that? Looking for answers, I did some research and I can tell you that, besides being blessed with great genes, J.Lo really takes her health and beauty regimen seriously. Here are some tips and tricks the star swears by.
Jennifer Lopez is super fit and that’s due to her strict workout regimen. She is so dedicated to her fitness routine that she never skips a workout, no matter what. “Very rarely will I skip my workout. Sometimes, I work too late the night before, and I’m like, ‘Ugh, I can’t do this.’ But I tell myself, ‘Just do it. It’s only an hour.’ It’s just talking yourself off the ledge of being a lazy bum,” she told Us Weekly. Jennifer works with two personal trainers, one in New York and the other in Los Angeles and she says that the combination of two different workouts is great for her. “I work out three or four times a week. When I’m in New York, I work out with David Kirsch — he’s an amazing trainer. When I’m in L.A., I work with Tracy Anderson. I like the balance that they both give me. They have two totally different approaches. I like switching it up with my body,” Lopez told Hollywood Life.
Sleep is essential for good health and beautiful glowing skin. J.Lo knows the importance of beauty sleep and she makes sure to leave time for rest. “The number one tip is to always get enough sleep. I can’t stress this enough,” she told InStyle. “Ideally I would love to get nine or 10 hours of sleep, but either way, I always make sure I get at least eight,” she said.
No Alcohol or Caffeine
Jennifer Lopez doesn’t consume alcohol or caffeine. Instead, she opts for water. “First of all, hydrate. Drinking plenty of water, especially before a workout, can help you push harder and get more out of your exercise routine,” she told Hello. Caffeine, cigarettes or alcohol are the things she won’t touch. “I don’t drink, or smoke, or have caffeine,” she shared with Hollywood Life. “That really wrecks your skin as you get older.”
J.Lo Swears by Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid is one of the vital ingredients in many skincare products. This powerful acid is known for its exfoliation abilities. Golden Rule: Always Take off Your Makeup and Moisturize
J.Lo sticks to the skincare basics, such as washing your face after a workout, removing your makeup before bed and using a moisturizer. “I always, always wash my face after a workout. That helps keep my pores clean and my skin feeling healthy,” the star told Hello Magazine. “Then I’ll usually put on moisturizer and sunscreen, with maybe a little makeup if I’m going out or moisturizer and eye cream if it’s the evening.” Speaking to People magazine, she said: “I never go to bed without taking my makeup off, and I use night creams to keep my skin hydrated.”
High-End Skincare Products
In addition to good genes and healthy lifestyle, Lopez relies on some luxurious skincare products to help her look so amazing.

Scott Barnes, J.Lo’s makeup artist, told Allure that he uses the Dior Forever Foundation on her face and that one of her favorite moisturizers is insanely expensive Crème de la Mer. However, Lopez also loves another, much more affordable moisturizer, and that’s Dr. Hauschka’s Rose Day Cream, as she revealed in a 2014 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
